There is a garden in the middle of the town of Encinitas in California
that one of the local photographer has been talking about for several years and
that I should go and visit. Well I finally went to take a look. Wow, what a
beautiful place and the main attraction of this peaceful Meditation Garden
belonging to the Self Realization Fellowship is
the fantastic Koi ponds that contain the most beautiful large Koi fish I have
seen.
Here are a few photos from my visit to the SRF's Mediation
Garden. The garden was full of blooming plants. Here is a nice fuchsia that
greeted us on the walkway.
At one of the lookout area, a southern view that overlooks
all the local surf spots. That is the city of Solana Beach that we are seeing at
the top of the photo.
More beautiful flowers. A Lovely colored flower of a coral
tree.
A beautiful and delicate looking Protea flower.
Koi that looked like it was made of gold and glowed like
the sun.
They all were very friendly and approached the visitors as
to welcome everyone.
There are 3 koi ponds that are all at a different level
and the water is circulated from one to another keeping the koi ponds clean and
healthy.
A beautiful pattern on this one.
It's as though the fish was plugged into an electrical source
and it glowed like a beautiful golden light.
Coming close to say Hi...
One visitor sat near the edge of the Koi pond and actually
petted one on the head and talked affectionately to it as you would an old
friend.
Eventually they all took turns coming up and inspecting
the visitors.
So majestic and beautiful. There is no way to capture the
color in a photo... you must see this for yourself!
As the Koi anticipated a feeding they got more active and
created some surface turbulence.
Another close look.
The pattern of the water's surface was also beautiful to see.
An amazing white /silver Koi passed by.
