Plumbeous Vireo at the San Elijo Lagoon

I was showing a photographer friend the hummingbird nest near the far east trail entrance of the San Elijo Nature Reserve when we spotted a Vireo in the neighboring tree.





It was about 10:00am, sunny and bright and just as we were ready to leave the hummingbird nest area near the east trail entrance, we saw a bird fly into a willow tree across from the nest tree. We both scrambled for our cameras and started to click as he hopped around the tree. It appears to be a Plumbeous Vireo, Vireo plumbeus measures 5.75 inches with a wingspan of 10 inches.
