Double Dipping at the Fountain of Fun

It was quite foggy at the coast the other morning so I decided to go to the San Diego Botanic Garden and was rewarded with bright and sunny skies.

My mood was immediately uplifted with all the beautiful flowers along the trails.

Passing the small pond by the waterfall, I spotted a nice sized frog.

Arriving at the fountain near the entrance to the Hamilton children's garden, I spotted a Lesser Goldfinch taking a bath.

He appeared to be finished with his bath but decided to jump back in.
This time he is going for a full lap around the fountain!

Completing his lap, he does a victory splash!

Finally finished, out he comes.

But look who wants to join in on the fun... a cute little female hummer starts her bath at this popular fountain.
She hangs on to the edge as the water flows over her feet. Now she dips her neck and beak into the water.

A good head dip.

Bliss.

Final shakeout just before she flies off and  it's time for me to head for home.
Have a fun week everyone!  P.S. Have you checked out  Berry College Eagle Webcam in Georgia lately? The mom eagle has two nestlings under her and she is covered with snow. We sure are lucky here in California with our fantastic weather.
