Watching the Red-tailed Hawk Soar

Jan. 6, 2015

Went for a walk at Rios Pole Trail today and saw a Red-tailed Hawk soar above.  She didn't just circle once but stayed and circled about six times before she flew off. Just wanted to share the photos of this beautiful hawk with you.

Red-tailed Hawk, Buteo jamaicensis measures 19 inches long with a wingspan of 49 inches.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

FYI for all raptor lovers: The female Bald Eagle of the  Berry College live Eagle nest cam laid her first egg today at aprox 5:00pm EST!
