The Frogs of Summer

These hot days of summer are what we call the "Dog days of Summer" but I know a beautiful place you can go to keep cool and refresh your senses. The San Diego Botanic Garden is an escape from the unrelenting heat and humidity that saps your energy. Just sit by the Lily Pond, inhale the perfume from all the flowers at the garden and relax and watch the antics of the cute baby frogs and you will be energized or at least they will put a smile on your face.

*********

Arriving at the San Diego Botanic Garden hoping to get out of the muggy hot sunny day and find some cool shady spot in the bamboo forest. Maybe I could spot some baby frogs today and just enjoy the beautiful lily pond. I was in heaven from the wonderful fragrance of all the blooming plants in the breeze. What a magical place this garden is! The colors and the beauty of the pond will take your breath away. Here are some shots of the lily pond and the wonderful cute baby frogs that you can find there this time of the year.

The turtle wants a snack but good thing for the frog that he can hop away from danger.

 Closer...
OK, that is close enough. The little frog jumps out of the danger zone.

And now danger lurks under the lily pad.
Wow, this was a close call. The little guy jumps just in time. Can you spot the turtle?

LOL... This is one very disappointed turtle.
This is one happy frog that got away.
Frog Party!

This little guy still has his tail.

Have a super weekend everyone!
